Employee Spotlight: Scott Jansen
Magnuson Athletic Club proudly welcomes Scott Jansen as he joins the MAC Personal Training Team.
Scott is an active individual who enjoys spending time with his wife, Rebecca , his son, Blake (3 years old) and daughter, Holland (1 year old). While he enjoys spending time outdoors surfing, snowboarding, mountain biking, camping, and hiking, fitness has always been embedded into Scott’s daily life.
Starting his college career off at University of Wyoming studying Exercise Physiology while playing football for the Cowboys as a tight end, Scott transferred to Cal State Fullerton. There he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology in 1997.
In the midst of finishing his degree at Cal State Fullerton, Scott became a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) in 1996, where he used his knowledge working as a CPT at ProSport Physical Therapy in Newport Beach, CA.
Spending three years at ProSport PT, Scott left to start his own business, Corona Del Mar Fitness (CDM Fitness) in Newport Beach, CA. Scott established a boutique personal training style fitness center on the famed Pacific Coast HWY in the heart of walk about Corona Del Mar. After training on a daily basis with clients, Scott sold his half of CDM Fitness to his partner due to a change in his career where he followed his other passion, architecture.
Scott received an offer to work for a private land development and home-building company called New West Home. He spent the next seven years running buying land and running the project management side of the house. He eventually moved on to work for his brother’s software company called Teo Technologies by joining the board to provide leadership and operations to the business, all of which lead him to the corporate office in Seattle.
Joining the MAC in January 2013, Scott realized he wanted to get back into the industry he received his degree and certifications in and have a passion for. “I want to build something new again and assist people in improving their health and living a better life,” expressed Scott. “I believe in the MAC’s vision and want to come and add my expertise and energy!”
